Can someone see if I am on the computer. This is if they are on a different computer. Can they also see what websites I am on. I have firewall and norton virus I also have been using spybot. This person has said things to me after being on a certain site and I have not mentioned anything to them. Or I have noticed If computer has been on for a long time when I sign off they send me a message. It maybe nothing but was just curious. I do not want to know how to do this just wanting to know if this can be done? If so what can I do to prevent this. I also delete history daily and do disk clean up etc.

If you are on some chat program, they can see if you are on line. Also if yoiu have one of those IM messengers, that also can tell people you are online. They don't know if you are actually at the computer that minute, just that your computer is hooked up to receive messages.
So if it bothers you, turn off those IM programs until you wish to use them.
As for someone finding out what web site you visited, I don't think thats possible, unless, they have access to your computer.
Even cleaning up your history folder, doesn't get rid of that information. It's often still on the computer.
It's like when you open your Microsoft Word, and you can see a list of the previous jobs you worked on. Even if you have deleted that file, from its folder.

I would say yes, if this person has you listed as their "friend" on their Yahoo! Messenger and MSN Messenger. When you get online your name is highlighted or is bolder than other names on the list.) Whenever you leave and turn off computer the highlighted name will go back to the regular print. There are also ways to be on the computer and not let your "friends" know you are online, its called "invisible" and is in both Yahoo Messenger and MSN. Check it out. Then, too there are always "hacker's" and who knows what they are able to get from your computer.

i recommend using spysweeper and ccleaner to clean your tracks. also, reconfigure your firewall, there might have been a program you overlooked.
