I've tried to format this hard drive but it won't format and I get the message wrong version of windows. What do I need to do to get it formatted so I can load Windows 98 , then upgrade it to Windows XP PRo.

I have seemed to have lost all sound on my PC. The speakers are connected as they shoud be. I went into device manager and uninstalled the only thing i could uninstall under Sound, video and game controllers. It was called Windig..' something! (stupidly, i can't even remember the name!!) When i restarted my computer, it didn't say 'Found new hardware' as i had hoped, and plus now the little volume icon has gone from the taskbar too... :((
please help, any suggestions?

This is happening on a weekly basis (hacker attacks), there are numerous files on my laptop that are not mine & its the hassle of trying to restore my email a/c's. My laptop is only 2 months old & I have firewalls etc. installed but they always manage to break in to my computer. Can anyone advise me what to do to stop it? Thanks

My computer is working really, really, really slowly. I have it for almost 3 months, it's components are very good, but after I've connected to the internet, it's began to work very slowly. my computer is running unbelieveably slow. it's to the point where i can only be on it for a few hours then i need to run a disc cleanup, delete temp internet files, delete cookies, restart, and then i can use it again.

do you have any idea what is wrong? my brother said he wants to reinitialize it...would that help?? should i buy more ram?

Now I can't get rid of it...right click delete shows a screen that another program is using it? Went into add/remove programs and it doesn't show up?
Guess I did something wrong when the download questions were asked? Do you want to save or run? I pushed run? Wrong choice?
I want to get rid of it and start over properly.

Evidently I have a popup blocker I am unaware of. I use a particular program that requires a right-click to access the program from any site. It works fine all the time, now quit working. I suspect some auto-update has installed or renewed a popup blocker that I am unaware of. The problem is that I have a LOT of software and programs on my laptop and I don't have a clue how to identify this type of function. Can anyone help me?

Damn web browser has disabled all of the flash from all the webpages! It's so annoying because I have to click on the flash in order to use it and, uuUUURGH!!!
