Use Zone alarm suite. It detects viruses, spyware and intruders. I don't have any more problems since I use it!

First make sure you have anti-virus software on AND updated, run a scan every week. Second use windows firewall, or if you have a better firewall use that. Third, download a free copy of spybot S&D (look it up using google) it should remove most if not all unwanted software. Another alternative is AdAware, another free program. Lastly clean out your history, temperary internet folders, and your cash......that is assuming all these problem ARE network based.

The first thing you should have done before connecting to the internet was get an uptodate virus checker and enable a firewall and spyware detector.

You can still install a virus checker - try http://www.free.grisoft.com - and then run a scan disk on your local harddrive(s).
