I have seemed to have lost all sound on my PC. The speakers are connected as they shoud be. I went into device manager and uninstalled the only thing i could uninstall under Sound, video and game controllers. It was called Windig..' something! (stupidly, i can't even remember the name!!) When i restarted my computer, it didn't say 'Found new hardware' as i had hoped, and plus now the little volume icon has gone from the taskbar too... :((
please help, any suggestions?

remove the sound card from the mother board and put it back again and then restart your pc..
then u'll get the new hardware found thing..
put in the driver cd if you have for the sound card..
or specify the location in your pc where you have stored the sound card drivers..
then give the next options..
it's simple..

First go to the control panel and dbl clk on "Sounds and Audio Devices". Put a check in the box that says place volume icon in taskbar.
What fixed my "no sound" problem: I went to msn messenger and did the sound test. It had a box to check to "repair". That did it!

go to device manager
right click on your computer name and scan for hardware changes
if the sound card was found install the require driver if not
insert your driver cd
i think maybe your sound card is onboard
so u must insert the motherboard cd
and install the sound card driver on autorun
then restart
and see the result

Shut down the computer and turn it back on. Key into C-MOS if you know what that is, and enable your sound card. If you computer is more than 7 years old, the C-MOS battery will need changing on your motherboard. Make sure what you are doing before doing so. I have build two computers and know what I am talking about.

good click 'my laptop' and circulate to properties. circulate to gadget supervisor. Do you notice a yellow question mark next on your sound controller? if so as which ability you're able to be able to desire to reinstall the driving force. If that's no longer the restoration than i could in basic terms have a clue as to whats incorrect if i replaced into waiting to look at your laptop. I propose if all this fails to format your laptop. maximum human beings do no longer do it normally adequate besides.

First, I'd swap your speakers with a friend's speakers to rule out that it isn't just your speakers. That's probably not really helpful, but I've had what your describing happen twice, both times my speakers were dead.
