I presently use a router that allows my three Macintoshes access to the Internet. I would like to move to gigabit--hopefully with at least 5 ports. Does anyone know of a good sub-$200 unit that could do this for me? Wifi is not necessary.

I ordered ATT Elite DSL sometime last week. We got the modem on the 5th. Service was supposed to be set up the 6th but it wasn't. Then I called they said it would be set up the 7th because they were having facility issues. Then it still didn't work and they said thier facilities were having more issues. Then I get home today and guess what!? It's not working. So I called and was placed on hold for 20 minutres (i was watching the clock). Then the rep comes on and says "Somebody messed up your account, your sevice should be up in 48 hours or so". Does anyone else have ATT DSL? And if so is the norm with these people? It just seems like I keep getting different answers.

As you know, when you open your inbox a list of your emails appear. Presently, after I select one, read it, then delete it, the next email in my list automatically opens for reading. I dislike this action and up until about one month ago it did not happen. I was able to return to my inbox and have my choice of which one to open. I have checked everywhere in the "options" to enable converting this back to the way it was, but to no avail.

I'd much appreciate a hot tip on how to get it done.

I need to create a formula in excel that can calculate the exact hours and/or minutes between two times, lets say that i begin to work at 9:00 pm and i end my work at 2 am so will be 5 hours, so i need a formula that can calculate this kind of data from two different cells in my spreadsheet (cell 1 the time when i enter to work, cell the time when i finished my work), hope you understand what i'm looking.

I've created a gallery html page which works fine on most browsers. But on certain browsers the code for some images gets stripped out. I can see this when I open the View Source option. There's no particular type of browser it doesn't work on.
I've tried re-doing the images, doing them as gifs, re-writing the code but I still have the same problem. And I'm not just seeing empty squares with missing images- there is nothing at all on the page once it's loaded onto a browser.

Hi, I wish someone could help me out please. I have a compaq evo 1000C notebook. Everytime I connect any device (camera,mp3 player,external hard drive) to one of its USB ports, the computer reboots itself and doesnt boot properly until I remove the device from the USB port completely. I've tried downloading a few patches but nothing seems to work. please help.

Is it really worth the extra cost of getting a 1gb or is 512MB ok also?

OK, my parents have DSL and they are getting phone calls from people claiming to have gotten it though e-mail or talking to them in one form or another. they actually ask for people by name so we think they found some information through a hack or something. no one in their house-hold told anyone this info.

so, is it possible for them to steal phone information though the DSL hook-up?
if so is it a common occurence?

In Firefox, turning on and off the Adobe plugin seems to have fixed it, although the PDFs always open up in a new frame when they shoud not.

I still have not been able to fix IE. Any help would be appreciated.

Time has come to upgrate the old rig...

4x 512MB RAM
GeForce 7800GTX 256bit 256MB VRAM

I was thinking of upgrading something like this...

MSI K9N SLI Platinum
AMD Athlon 64 X2 4800+ or 4400+ socket AM2
2x 1GB RAM
GeForce 7950 GX2 512MB bit 1GB VRAM

What do you think? Would you change anything? Any advice is welcome. I will use this PC for gaming mostly.
