What is easiest way to convert photo to jpeg using scanner, photosmart & Yahoo to send as attachment?

Epson Perfection 2400, HP Photosmart 8250, Yahoo Browser. Recipients haven't been able to open my attachments

scan it and after you get done doing that select file, save as, specify jpeg from the drop down menu
