I ordered ATT Elite DSL sometime last week. We got the modem on the 5th. Service was supposed to be set up the 6th but it wasn't. Then I called they said it would be set up the 7th because they were having facility issues. Then it still didn't work and they said thier facilities were having more issues. Then I get home today and guess what!? It's not working. So I called and was placed on hold for 20 minutres (i was watching the clock). Then the rep comes on and says "Somebody messed up your account, your sevice should be up in 48 hours or so". Does anyone else have ATT DSL? And if so is the norm with these people? It just seems like I keep getting different answers.

I've had SBCYahoo DSL for several years (in Silicon Valley) and have had very few problems. Generally, it has taken a while to get to a knowledgeable support person (sigh), but I've had to do it so seldom that it's just a tiny flaw in an otherwise quite positive experience. I don't know how things will go now that AT&T owns it, but I had an outage several days ago, and it was cleared up within a few hours.

Hey that makes perfect sense, if they dont want you to use a third party router. Its because, they didnt send it to you, so they dont have the technical know-how to get it to work. However, I am sure they will be happy to support their own equipment. Any extra equipment that you add to your network will be your own responsibility... just like if you get an extra car lock fitted from somewhere else, your car dealer cant help you with it..

Hope it helps..

It happens. Ask them for a credit for the lost time. Normally they will work with you.
