I presently use a router that allows my three Macintoshes access to the Internet. I would like to move to gigabit--hopefully with at least 5 ports. Does anyone know of a good sub-$200 unit that could do this for me? Wifi is not necessary.

Get D-link or Netgear, they are both really good gigabit routers. They have wireless ones, but if you just want a normal router that is very trusting and decent in price and works well with networking, then I suggest either of those two.

Try going to http://www.newegg.com or http://www.tigerdirect.com for some good prices, but always check the warranty first. I think most come with 4 ports, but I am sure there are ones where you can extend to 5 ports. If you need more help, just let me know.

I knew a nice old Irish guy one time who was a very good dancer. He would drink a glass of Irish whiskey, and then he would dance the jig a bit.

Hahahahahaha.

I have had a lot of luck with Lynksys products for home use, but I honestly couldn't tell you how well they work with Macs.
