There are those that say seat belts are more dangerous on school busses, but is there a way to make seat belts "safe"? Are governments more concerned about child safety or the expense of having to revamp an archaic and dangerous transportation system?

Ok, ESC will help with sliding. How efficient is traction control instead of AWD? My previous car was a Toyota Supra, with rear wheel drive. which would get stuck in a few inches of snow and had virtually no traction. So, my awd SVX has been a dream in the winter. My main concern with a new vehicle is not getting stuck and not sliding. Thanks for the input.

I was there on business and they drive like buffoons or more specifically, like baboons. The police on top of it run traffic lights and could care less about anyone except their sorry a**es.

This may be very confusing, but i will try to explain it to the best of my ability. So let's say your driving down the road and you approach a red light. You have 2 lines that represent the crosswalk, and 1 line that represents where to stop. Now, my question is, that single line represents how far you can go before entering the crosswalk right? Does this Single line represent where your front bumper can go, or is it your front tires?

I was the 2nd car, a car was in front of me. the light turn green, then the driver ahead of me went ahead, so did I. The driver then came to complete stop, in the middle of on going traffic. that when I slam into the back of her car, I dented her car a little in the back, my car had no damage whatsoever. we exchange information driver license #, phone, address, name::::she said that a car ran the red light and was going to hit her head on, I did'nt see the other car that ran the red light.

I called my Dr.'s office, but a nurse answered, and she didn't seem very sure,...kept saying 'well, i would think...' - my question is, you would think the full face helmet would be best, but i am wondering if he crashes (goes up to 15mph only) , if he were pitched forward, could the chin on the full face helmet hurt him, maybe snap his neck whereas the crown helmet wouldn't? arggghhhh - confusing to me, just want to get him the safest possible equipment. thanks for any help..

I was thinking that rear drive, 4X4 SUV would benefit better if the new tires were put on the rear instead of the front. I can only afford two at the moment and I need new tires badly.... my right front tires is bald and the thread is showing.

just passed my driving test a few wks back and now i have a car!! i cant wait to drive it although tonight i drove only to the petrol station which is in the same town but discovered the car is not that great to handle i.e. the indicators arent on the left hand side they are on the right (i knew this prevoious to buying the car but didnt think that it would be a total problem) but i found it hard to rememeber where they were etc silly mistake. then my bf who was in the passenger seat was shoutin at me so that made me nervous and i feel like im havin to flinstone my feet to the floor when im brakin, which is really annoying, apart from that i love the car and overall love driving (well i loved driving my instructors car) now i have my own everyone says to me its ok u will get used to it . any advice??

Its time America for us to take a stand and have these people in State and Federal Offices to raise the speed limits. I am sick of doing 65 & 70 mph on the freeway and I know I can go much faster and still be safe. Well tell me how you feel about this issue?

I got a "parking warning" saying I am parking illegally and my car will be towed if I keep parking there. However, I am parked legally. It doesn't say anywhere that I need a permit to park there. How do I find out if it's a real warning not just someone playing a prank on me?

My boyfriend was working with a van at his work that had 6 blind spots, faulty breaks, and has 75,000 miles on it. By company policy, vans should not be used after 70,000 mile. He was driving and got cut off by a car. He did not see the car coming due to his blindspots and the van would not break in time. He hit the car and the driver of the other car took off because he had no insurance. Now his work is trying to either write him up or fire him for this accident. Is there any laws or anything legal saying that the company cannot reprimand him? Thank you.

I got a ticket from a police officer last night because he said I came dangerously close to hitting a pedestrian in a crosswalk. However, I didn't see the pedestrian because it was dark outside, and while they could see me (I drive a Chevy Suburban and it's nearly impossible to miss), I couldn't see him. So why wasn't the pedestrian yielding for me? It should also be their fault for not driving. Also, does anyone know any legal recourse (I live in Texas).
