Ok you have to remember that I just got my license about 2 weeks ago and also keep in mind I'm not good at all at judging if my car is straight or if my car is close enough to the curb.

Here is what happened... I was driving home from my friends house and I was parked infront of her house. There was a car infront of me and her dads car was in the garage (so i couldn't back up into the garage and get out like any normal person would do). I first tried to pull up around the car infront of me but I got scared that I was going to hit the car so i backed up and I hit the curb. (ok remember my friends dad is in the car and looking at me the whole time) So ya anyways, I'm already on the curb so I went completely on it (well just my back tires you know) and got out around ok.
Then the next day at school my friend told me that her dad said I was a really bad driver and not to get into the car with me. He like drew a picture and everything.

It's not me, I've been driving for 30 years, no accidents or tickets! I just know somebody who has no interest in driving at all.

Why do so many car manufacturers advertise their cars as "fun to drive"? (Google it.) Driving is supposed to be a serious procedure, not to be taken lightly. Fun implies enjoyable, amusing, playful or joking, none of which has any place on our highways.

Is this legal or illegal in College Station, Texas? I live in a residential neighborhood and usually when my neighbors have company they park in front of our house. Well a couple of time someones tail has been slightly blocking our driveway making it hard for my husband to back out in the morning (because alot of people park on the side of the road on our street). If he ever hit the person would he be at fault?

I have thought about parking my cars on both sides of the street opposite each other, thereby reducing the width of the street. There is no sidewalk on my street, so that worries me about pedestrian safety

i'm 17. i just got my very first speeding ticket. i was going 36 in a 20, and on the ticket paper the officer checked the box that says "go to court" on the other paper that he gave me, it has a list of expenses for each speeding (1-10 mph over speed limit is $75, etc.) instead of a dollar amount, it says COURT. i was hoping to just be able to pay it off, and not go to court. i'd still tell my parents because they'll find out anyways. but since i have to go to court, and one of them has to take off work to come with me, it's a pretty big inconvience. not to mention extremely embarrassing. any suggestions on how i can tell them i got a ticket, with out them being eternally pissed at me?

I can't understand why nothing is done when so many fatal accidents happen on some of the fast roads in our country. What's wrong with having bridges so pedestrians can cross the road safely? Is it to do with money? Is it because bridges might spoil the view? What about precious young lives that are lost to tragic accidents?

Or a pavement test?... or a 'i'm not sure if i'm a cyclist, pedestrian or car so i'm gonna keep swapping pavement for road - and keep EVERYONE on their toes' test?

Should you be made when you get older to retake your driving test.?.
At the moment you just need a medical to make sure you are fairly healthy but your reactions slow down as you get older.
At what age should this be done? I think when you reach 50 you have a retest
What do you think ?

I got a ticket from a police officer last night because he said I came dangerously close to hitting a pedestrian in a crosswalk. However, I didn't see the pedestrian because it was dark outside, and while they could definitely see my Hummer H2, I couldn't see him. Also there are a lot of crosswalks out there, so how do I always know when there's a pedestrian in one? So why wasn't the pedestrian yielding for me? It should also be their fault for not driving.

Also, does anyone know any legal recourse for this ticket, and can I sue the parents of the person I almost hit (I got the person's information, but I don't know if I can sue them because they are only 14, it is the parents, right?)

Does that button really do anything? If so, what? Does it shorten the time of a red light? Lengthen the time of the walk sign? Does it matter how many times you press it?
