I ALWAYS use turn signals... Especially when I'm at work since I drive a semi-trailer. What I don't get is why people ignore them and speed up from a fairly wide distance away and cut me off before I can pass a camper and get back into the right lane??!!! I use them all the time in my personal truck as well since it is like second nature to me and just a courteous -- not to mention safe-- practice. I don't recall placing a sign on any vehicle that I drive that reads omnipotent, clairvoyant or mind reader.

As far as trying to make a "Citizen's traffic stop"..... Good luck with that one, you'll more than likely stir up more trouble than you'd like. I agree that some parties should be held to the same standard that they enforce, but in their case, I think we can let it slide since they put their lives on the line daily for us.

I use it all the time, even when I know for sure that there are no cars (or police officers) around. It teaches you discipline. I don't mind the sound. Actually, that prevents you from forgetting the signal on. But you knew that, I am sure about it. I always have a song, in my head, tha goes with the clicking sound. It helps me enjoy the annoying sound.

Yeah, it's a habit. I use 'em for switching lanes, turning corners... sometimes, without thinking, when the road veers, I put them on, too.

More often than not, my problem is remembering to turn them off after I've switched lanes. When I have children in the car with me, they love to call that to my attention: "Why do you still have your blinker on?"

:-P

**EDIT** Where the cops are concerned... I'm usually prepared to give them the right of way, anyway... no telling when they'll get an emergency call. You, however? There are no markings on your car that make me think you might decide to turn willy nilly.

I always use them. There are times when I wait unnecessarily for an oncoming car at an intersection to go by only to find that they are making a right turn and I could have gone ahead if they had used their signal. It's kind of annoying.

The humorous element which you ask that by way of fact i'm a guy or woman who makes use of my turning alerts while i'm using. i'm going to be utilising it to frequently nevertheless. that is somewhat humorous... while i'm in a privatecontinual like at McDonald's or some thing like it I positioned on my turning alerts while i'm parking happening the lanes. i know i comprehend it incredibly is completly dumb and hilarious on a similar time. once I do it I catch myself on it and think of why did I do this. to respond to your question I over use my turning alerts. SMILE

Almost always. The clicking sound is pretty annoying. You don't wanna not use it and have some cop be hiding and ticket you.

I always use them except for the following situations:

There is absolutely nobody around - what's the point?

I'm in a left turn only or right turn only lane or already on an exit ramp. And there's no oncoming traffic. Again, what's the point?

i use them all the time. the purpose of a turn signal is to WARN others of your intentions. if someone is out of your view (blind spot) or you're just not quite as attentive as you should be and don't notice another vehicle; your turn signal WARNS them of your intentions and gives them a fair chance to react by taking evasive maneuvers, or alerting you to their presence (horn).

As far as the police officer goes...I tend to just leave well enough alone.

I always use my turn signals --- but, lately I've been coming across these new model cars that don't seem to have any turn signal capability!

If you use indicators all the time, it becomes a habit.

However as you only use them, when you think no one is around, you could easily forget, and cause an accident, and guess what you'd be at fault.

So don't be stupid, and use your indicators.
