I've noticed that some people like to move over close to the curb and drive on the edge of speed tables. Why don't they just drive over them normally?

I heard that last week sometime or over the weekend that the Golden Gate bridge exploded or melted or something. I've looked for info on it but can't find any. Please don't think I'm stupid. I don't know weather to believe this or not.

I know the rules for parking: align your car with the one you want to park behind, turn the wheel, reverse then STOP -This is where the problem comes, I dont know how to tell when its good enough to stop reversing and I always either wind up hitting the curb or ending up too far away from it. Is there a way to tell when its good enough ??

that they (the oncoming traffic) is giving you the go ahead and proceed because they (the oncoming traffic) have every intention of turning? And if not what is the purpose of the turn signal? I believe it is an indication for following traffic to slow down or prepare for a change in direction and the same holds true for merging or oncoming traffic.

I've heard from friends that it is legal to drive in flip flops but not in bare feet.
Seems barmy as i know a friend whose flip flops slipped and her foot jammed between the accelerator and brake- unfortunately she hit a motorcyclist who got hospitalised (and fortunately survived)

I live in Wyoming, and I will be buying a vehichle soon, I'm just not sure what is best for driving in the winter... 4 wheel drive, all wheel drive, or front wheel drive.
In the winter, the roads get icy, snow packed, sometimes slushy... generally really crappy and I don't want to be in a foolish winter vehichle!!

Our roads are made to travel at 80 - why not let people fly? The speed police are parasites their only purpose should be to scrap up accidents.

I am so sad about my story. This has never happened to me before. I left my friends house(birthday party) They let me and didnt take my keys or offer me a ride home.
I drove on the highway towards home when all of a sudden i couldnt remember next only hitting the middle concrete divider i ended up on the other side of the hwy. after which point my car was close enough that i was still able to back it up to the side of the road. I was not injured and nobody else was involved.
I was arrested...and charged. I dont care about my car. I have cried all night and day. Remorseful...and thankful i didnt kill or injure somebody else. I prayed to God..and i think this is his way of showing me that i was doing so very wrong. I needed this wakeup call. I want to apologize to the whole world now and i believe that this mistake is a lesson that i needed.
I dont believe that i survived without injuries etc. I think God saved me. Im not making any excuses- I almost left my two kids without a Mom..

Today on my way home from a school dance I got pulled over by a cop because I was speeding. I am 17, and I got so scared that i burst into tears because I was really really speeding. THe cop said i was going 56 in a 25 mph road, and said that was enough to take my license away. But he was nice and seemed to feel bad for me because I was crying my eyes out and it was my first offense, and said that he was going to cut me a major break. He said I would not even get any points and he wasnt giving me a "speeding" ticket. WHen I got home i looked at the ticket he gave me & he had marked my charge as maximum speed limits, and he also wrote next to other : "Failure to obey traffic control device." He had said this means that I didnt pay attention to speed limits signs, but he also has written exactly how much I was speeding by. What does he mean, he is cutting me a break? how would he do that? Could he have lied to me to calm me down? if anyone knows what the cop meant please help

Is there any positions in the car that will cause less damage. If you are certain of a head on collision and know the airbag is going to go off, should you put your hands up to cover your face or down, turn your head, etc?? Is there any proper procedure?

i was following this van today in town. He threw two empty crisp packets out the window whilst driving and then got onto his phone, happily driving past a sign reminding of the dangers of using a mobile whilst at the wheel. He also then dived across two lanes ( still on the phone ) to go off elsewhere. I don't usually complain, but this sort of person is exactly the reason why people get run over. He clearly has no social conscience. I just want to know if i could have taken his plate and then reported it later to someone who could actually do something. ( there was no 'how am i driving?' sign on his van unfortunately )
