I've noticed that some people like to move over close to the curb and drive on the edge of speed tables. Why don't they just drive over them normally?

If you mean speed humps or bumps, there is sometimes a small section of shorter hump near the curb, and the vehicle bounces a little less.

What the hell is a "speed table?" Been driving for nearly 40 years and haven't heard that one yet.
