Unfortunately, I have been the victim of road rage on 2 separate instances & in 2 different states.
The 1st time was in Connecticut. I was travelling North on I-95 heading to an Indian reservation for gambling (Foxwoods). I was travelling in the left lane of a 2-lane portion of I-95. I was doing around 80mph and it was the middle of the afternoon. All of a sudden this car driven by a woman got right behind me and began tailgating me for about a mile. She then backed off & began hi-beaming me to get out of her way. When I didn't she came around me on the right side and tried to change lanes. She didn't correctly estimate the space she would need and ended up clipping the back of a tractor-trailer and spun out. When the State Trooper came to do the report, she got irate and insisted that I caused the accident by not getting out of the way. The Trooper didn't agree and issued her a bunch of tickets based on my statement & the truck driver's statement.
The 2nd incident was similar but in New York and @ night (around 9pm). I was in the left lane and an individual wanted me to move out of his way. When I didn't, he began hi-beaming me @ which point I slowed down to about 10mph. The driver changed lanes and passed me on the right and as he did so, he began throwing loose change @ my car. I followed him, got his license plate # and called 911. I filed a report and 3-days later the detectives and I went to the registered owner's address and they arrested the owner's son for "reckless endangerment","reckless driving", "criminal mischief", & "disorderly conduct".

Happens at least once a week if not more to me. I'm a professional truck driver who has been flipped off, cursed out, & have had a couple of drivers try to run me off of the road. The latter hasn't been successful (thank God!).
I'll admit sometimes it was my fault because I didn't see them in time, but in many cases, angry drivers aren't considering the circumstances at hand. I may not move over a lane when they are merging because another vehicle will overtake me before I can sucessfully get back into my proper lane, possibly forcing that driver into an unsafe lane change. I may be slow because I am trying to find an address of a customer. It is hard trying to turn a 53ft trailer conventional sleeper around in some areas. I may be having a problem with my equipment or have a slow vehicle in front of me that I cannot pass safely or efficiently. Even worse for some of these drivers, I may be trying to set myself up to make a turn without taking out the light pole, fire hydrant, parked car, &/or pedestrian on the corner.
When it does happen, I apologize to the other driver & may blow them a kiss with my lips. Then, let them get on their merry way & shrug it off. It will wear on you if you let it. If the aggression continues or escalates, I can dial 911 on my cell to summon help or get directions to the local police department for the local authorites to settle the other driver down (haven't had to use that option yet, another Thank God!!) Good luck!!

There have been a few instances where I passed a slow driver on a 2-lane road and they followed me...once I figured out they were following me, I didn't go directly to my destination--I just lollygagged around and went all over the place! LOL

Well the guy just decided to switch across 2 lanes without any turn signal and in the process almost taking my front bumper with it. When I pulled up right beside him I flicked him off!

i usually ignore them. If I get ticked off,Im only adding to a potentially dangerous situation. Not a wise thing to do.

No, I'm usually the aggressor. I don't know why, I'm a really laid back person outside of the car.
