My car has an automatic transmission, are they any benefits of applying the parking brake while parked? I heard it enables your back brakes to last longer if you use your parking brake.

She took my car without asking me. She was given her own car, a Honda Civic. She is a new driver, she's had her license for less than half a year, and has been driving on her own for about 2 months.

Two weeks ago, when I was napping, she took my G35 coupe, which has almost 3 times the horsepower than the late model Civic, and picked up her friends and went to the mall.

I just found out now when one of her friends told me. The G is a difficult car for new drivers to handle, I don't want her hurting herself, it's a completely different car than the Civic, on top of that I usually leave "safeties" like traction and stability control off....had the car started to drift, she wouldn't know how to control the drift.

How should I make it clear that this isn't to happen again? I have let her drive my car before, but with me in it, and with the safeties on.

I am so fed up, I almost want to stop driving completely. This has happened to me at least 4 times in the past few months, and I am afraid that I am going to get into an accident. Basically, I will be driving on the freeway going at the speed limit (usually 55-65) and someone will be on the ramp to merge, and they will not slow down at all, and just come right at me! Just 20 mins ago, a truck merged at the exact moment that I was right next to them, and I had to go into the other lane a little to avoid them! Don't get me wrong, I always let people in whenever possible, but when I am going at least 55, and have an older car that can't stop on a dime, there is nothing I can do except keep going. I feel that I'm not doing anything wrong, but I keep almost getting into accidents. Does anyone have any advice for me?

I am concerned that my car could be stolen or that someone could be hurt. I am having to hide from someone that is not the ordinary type of person, he hires people to kill for him. I had thought about renting a car out of town. Where can I safely hide my car?

Whose fault would it be if car 1 was @ a stop sign. Car 1 stopped @ the stop sign then after looking both ways and seeing it's safe to cross, car 1 crossed the intersection more than 3/4 of the way when car 2 (coming from the right) hit car 1's bumper. After car 2 hit car 1, car 1 spins and hits a parked car. Whose is at fault car 1 or car 2?

..One, (a stupid 50yr old man), Was Trying To Make A Free Right Turn At A Red Light. The Other (a stupid 37yr old woman) Was Attempting To Walk Across The Street In The Cross Walk From The Stupid Mans Right. Neither One Of Them Looked At Each Other To See What The Other Was Going To Do. Next Thing I Saw Was The Stupid Woman Walking While The Stupid Man Turned Right, Hitting Her & Knocking Her On Her Butt.

Why Do People Not Look (especially pedestrians) And Falsely Assume Everything Is Okay, When It Ain't???
WHAT IS WRONG WITH THESE STUPID PEOPLE???
..Any Opinions???

I replaced a rear seatbelt assembly in my wifes Mazda6 and I could see a single ball bearing about 7/16" in dia. in some sort of carriage that looks like it locks the seat belt if the car is overturned. Does anyone know if thats what that single ball bearing is intended for?

Hello all,
I have a driving test tomorrow morning to get my driver's license, and I'm quite simply terrified. Earlier today, I was out practicing and I nearly got into an accident. I'm usually a good driver, but that mistake I made today has just completely demoralized me.

Does anyone have any advice? Any tips? Any certain heads ups I should know about for tomorrow?

90% of the people I know said I should go to a lawyer.

It happened like this. I was at a crosswalk, the walk sign was on. Therefore I looked left and right and saw nobody move, I took some steps forward. Then I looked left and right again and the car was already about to hit me! It did and I fell down and my left leg felt numb for like 5-10 mins.

The accident gave me contusions on my left/right leg and lower back. The guy driving has no insurance whatsoever, the car he was using is registered to somebody else (and I dunno if the person has insurance either). I have his driver license information, an a name/number of a witness who saw the whole thing.

He didn't give me the car info, so I went ahead and got it from the address he gave me by taking a picture of the car. (License plate, car make/model) I filed a police report.

My insurance doesn't take effect until after 2 wks which means I will have medical bills. He offered to pay me cash for the bills. Is that good enough?

I had the screaming abdabs and made him stop the car there and then. We'd been taking rubbish to the skip and it got in with me. Well, I'll stop rambling, but would my husband have been prosecuted if I'd made him crash the car? He wasn't very happy with me.(It was big though)

My friend who is a single mom has 2 kids and 6 cats is moving from California to Tennessee. She will hire a u haul to take her stuff. She will sit with the kids in the uhaul. She plans to attach the car using the hitch to the uhaul. She will then put two cats in one carrier in the car. When she stops along the way she will feed the pets. Is it safe to transport pets like this unattended. Wont it get crampy for them when they are two in one carrier for a journey of almost 34 hrs. Are there any laws that prevent this. I really care for those cats and have been telling her to give them to me instead of causing this trauma. I just want to ensure that such a travel for a pet is allowed under the law.
