Hello all,
I have a driving test tomorrow morning to get my driver's license, and I'm quite simply terrified. Earlier today, I was out practicing and I nearly got into an accident. I'm usually a good driver, but that mistake I made today has just completely demoralized me.

Does anyone have any advice? Any tips? Any certain heads ups I should know about for tomorrow?

I passed! Thanks everyone, for the words of encouragement.

Let's see here. I won't start by telling you not to be nervous, you will be, and there is nothing anybody can say that will change that.

Get up early today, and eat a good breakfast, and give yourself ample time to get there and don't be rushed. That will just get you more upset and nervous. Always keep both hands on the wheel, and when you come to a stop, take about 2 or 3 seconds before you take off. That way you make sure that you have completely stopped. When backing up, and looking over your shoulder, come to a complete stop before you look back forward. They got me on that many years ago. Do not speed, that will end the test quick. Look at you mirrors every few seconds.

You'll be fine, try to relax, if you can. Just look at all of the other idiots that are on the road, they passed the test, so you shouldn't have any problems.

good luck.

Good luck on the test!

Get a good night's rest, eat well before you go. And don't think about your practice today! Better get the bad stuff out the day before than at the actual test!

My driving instructor always said that people who screw up during their last lesson were more likely to pass :)

Be ready for your test by reaching the appropriate standard. That may be 5 or 500 hours - however, the test is to ensure that you are ready to drive alone.....are you???

When I was teaching I would ask myself the question, "If this student passes the test and drives along a road that my nephews are playing near, do i feel confident in their ability to be driving appropriately"

If not, take more lessons! Sometimes candidates pass when they shouldn't (I learnt that in my first 6 months of instruction)

Hey just don't worry that much or you will mess up just think the instructor is someone you know but instead evaluating you. And when he marks the paper don't worry about it he/she might just marked it as a passing checkpoint. Just concentrate on driving. Don't worry about the other drivers around you. Drive slowly and don't rush. I passed on my third try. And luckily i got a instructor who wanted to go home lol. Good Luck!

OH boy, the driving test. i was so nervous on my test. and my instructor was a mean S.O.B. when he told me to back up till he said stop, i stoped when he told me to and then he asked me, "do you have a dog?" i said yes. then he said, "well you just ran him over." i was just blown away! i was so bad at that point, when i pulled out of the parking lot, i pulled on to the wrong side of the road!!!. that was my only problem though. ummm. when you meet the instructor, have a chat with him on your way out to the car. it doesn't have to be about driving, it could be about anything. just so it doesn't feel quite so awkward. talk with him/her while your driving. they know your nervous and usually they'll try to help calm you down. and hopefully you won't get one with a sick sence of humor like i did.

I dont think you need tips on this. I would say you are nervous and excited for your driving test tomorrow. All you need now is a free mind.
