What steps of safety would you suggest for a lady driver who drives alone on quiet roads?

keep your doors locked at all time
carry a cell phone with you.
do not pick up anyone, or stop for anyone
make sure that someone is anticipating your arrival at your destination, and an approximate time...this way if you have car trouble, and do not arrive, they can come looking for you.

Know how to change your own tire and make sure that you have a flashlight, extra bottled water, a blanket and if you can swing it, a battery jump pack.

If you are broke down, and someone stops, only crack your window a little and politely refuse help. ONLY accept help from someone that you know.

Keep your doors locked at all times, Make sure you have a charged cellphone, Be sure you know how to change a tire, Keep a flshlight in the car at all times (preferably a long metal one to use as a weapon as well), tell people where you are going before you go, try to always keep a jug of water and a can of oil for just in case emergencies. And be cautious about road blocks and other things that look out of the ordinary. It's better to be take extra precautions and be safe, than it is to be dead!

lock the door on the inside, have cellphone nearby
and be observant to things around you like cars, people,
and don't pick up hitch hikers, even the cute ones :)
(i know, you'll decide THAT for yourself) :))
and try to sit and be relaxed when you drive,

stop the car when you feel that you're getting tired, because that's an accident waiting to happen!
before you know it you'll end up in a tree or worse. so stop driving when you start nodding your head!!

well keep your door locked and windows up and if you should get stopped by someone then never ever roll your window down all the way just a little bit and tell them someone is on their way to help you . good luck .
