My beeping coworker was checking out my car, and he was smoking. I think some of the ashes feel on the paint of my black car. Maybe it isn't, but it seems like ther are these black bumps all over my right side of the car.

Do you think the black bumps are the result of the ashes?

How do I fix it?

Should I scrap it off? i'm afraid of what's gonna happen. that some of a *****.

My two first cars never had cruise and I absolutely love it on my new used car. I never speed, but I like to use it anyway since I'm on the highway a lot. But, I like using it on local roads too since I work really late at night sometimes and I don't want to get pulled over by a cop for a b.s. reason, like going 1 mph over the speed limit which has actually happened to me (I think they just wanted a reason to pull me over to see if I was under the influence or had anything illegal on me).

I'm just wondering. I really do not want to waste money on a driver's permit if I do not need it. I was hoping that maybe I can just go and get a Driver's license without getting a permit when I turn 18. I live in California btw.

it is the most dangerous thing that people can do. In daylight hours your dipped beam lights are as stong as full beam headlights at night. It blinds drivers in front of you and drivers coming the ohter way. Quite frankly if you can`t see cars on the road in normal driving conditions without there lights on, you shouldn`t be driving.

Ive heard that there are certain points that you can shift your car (only a manual car) without pushing the clutch down. And it doesnt grind gears. My friend has doen this twice when his clutch went out. And I've heard that you can do this from more people.

How many of you remember when our gov. lowered speed limits to save on fuel? And it did help save thousands! This country is already 'speeding' fast enough and in my opinion, 70 mph is far too fast! Ever have a semi-truck pass You When you are going 70 yourself? Are there not more accidents involving semi-trucks then perhaps as long as far back as 5 years ago? I for one, drive only 65 mph, both saving gas and my nerves! Come on America, lets ALL SLOW DOWN!! In every aspect of our lives and a good place to start is with our speed limits. Get rid of the cell phones as well!

just received a parking ticket for parking on double yellow lines.
couple of points:

1) only a third of the vehicle was actually on the double yellow lines - the rest was in a valid space - any ideas if i have a valid case to appeal
2) the double yellow lines in question do not adhere to the governments advice on double yellow lines - i.e. incorrect width, incorrect distance away from the kerb etc.

any ideas on whether or not it is worth appealing... any advice would be most welcome.
cheers

For those in the San Francisco Bay Area (East Bay specifically), which location would be the easiest (and least busy) to take the driving test: Oakland Coliseum location or Hayward location? I've already had one test a year or so back at the Oakland Clairmont location. That area was really busy, and I was nervous so I didn't pass. Also, is morning the best time to take the test?
