I have an eye for color and shapes and designs, yet at the same time I like getting my hands dirty and seeing that the car runs good and is in tip top shape. Pros and cons and opinions whether good or bad will be helpful. THANKS

The last three dealerships I spoke with service managers and they all just wanted experience and very much preferred to apprentice the local college students. I got an email from the president (and owner) of this used luxury car dealership saying to please contact him for apprenticeship opportunnities. Knowing that the president of the company has more power than any service manager, how could I convince him to let me take on an apprenticeship?

I have an auto after years of driving only manuals. How should I use the 'neutral' position in the 'box? Is it ok to knock the 'box into neutral whilst coasting up to a stopline, for example, or is that harmful in any way? How about when stationary at the lights, should I stay in 'drive' or shift to 'neutral'?

Advice appreciated.

Toyota just came out with a new 5.7 liter v8 engine that makes 381 horsepower(i think)....Chevy's most powerful was 360 or somewhere in that range, and the Dodge Hemi is still 345. Do you realize that this is a power war, just like in the late 60's and early 70's?? Do you realize that in order to beat toyota, the next automaker will probably come out with an engine 400 hp or more?!?! that's insane! stock v8's pushing 400 hp...i wonder how long it will be before GM puts that 7.0 Corvette v8 into their trucks...505 horsepower oughta shut 'em up...at least for awhile...

The 1957 Clean Air Act stopped the smog.

Now we are blaming the 4x4 drivers and Prescot drives off in a new Jaguar what a tax grabbing government.

Perhaps sending all polluters, murderers, theives to Iraq might help.

Replies please I am really concerned !!!!

I just bought a new car and I want to use my laptop in my car. I'm planning on getting an inverter so I can just plug it in like a regular house plug. I want to use my laptop to watch movies while the ignition is on so it won't drain all the batteries. Will the car generate enough power to keep my laptop running and where is it getting the energy to charge the car battery if I'm not driving it.

how do people put cars inside malls or enclosed buildings? do they dismantle it, and then assemble it afterwards?.. do they use cranes? there are some instances that it is possible to drive the car inside, but in some malls it is impossible to do that since there a lot of kiosks and/or posts.

Here's the deal: Hopefully, I shall be getting my license soon. (Finally! Lol.) When I do, and get some practice in, I should like to go on a good, long road trip. However, I have heard that the age for being able to hold a license is different in different states. Would it be illegal for a sixteen- or seventeen-year-old driver to go through a state where the age for a license is eighteen? Do you know which states these are? Also, how old do you have to be to get a hotel room?
