The last three dealerships I spoke with service managers and they all just wanted experience and very much preferred to apprentice the local college students. I got an email from the president (and owner) of this used luxury car dealership saying to please contact him for apprenticeship opportunnities. Knowing that the president of the company has more power than any service manager, how could I convince him to let me take on an apprenticeship?

Go find an internship in Sales. You can sell anything. Make sure these people who want to hire you for a sales position are legitimate. Write a resume. Contact me by email and give me your email address. I do have a business group on yahoo that you may join.

Know his name and a hobbie of his? When you get to the dealer find these out if not. When you talk with him ask him about his hobbie or something he likes if you did your homework and found this out. This way when you met him you can ask "Mr. Peterson how is your project camaro comming along?" Or have you been fishing much lately Mr wright? Talk to him just shortly to get him in a good mood. Then kind of briefly tell him that you want to....... and you will do what ever neded to work into getting into this career. Wash care and be showed to change oil and other dirty jobs. Be ready to work any odd hours. Let him know just a chance and if he does not like your work in a few days or weeks just tell you and then you can part ways. No bad felings.
