I have a 1993 Toyota Camry with 200,000 miles. The only problems so far is the rear mount which cause my care to vibrate really bad, need oil pan gasket, valve covers, and rings replaced. The problem is I not sure how much longer it will last.. I have an option of purchasing a 2005 Pontiac Grand Am with 33,000 miles. I really don't want a car payment but I am trying to rebuild my credit after BK. I have 4 children and I want to make sure that I have a dependable car.

I put a blow off valve on my car, because I wanted that cool "release air" sound. But the thing is, I drive an automatic. When will I hear the sound? Also, my engine isn't a turbo, it's stock, so will that affect the sound?

I failed 3 times...not because I was bad, I wasn't ready. My instructors was in a rush to get me to pass. I just listened to him time after time and just went for the tests. Now it's been like a year and a half...I think because I lost a lot of confidence in getting the license so I quit until now I want it back!

Ok, some friends challenged me to a quarter-mile race in their 97 Supra, 91 Civic, and 98 Acura. They're all easily 12 second cars. I haven't examined what's under their hood closely, but I know they're heavily modified. I have a 5.0L V8, fuel injected, 88 Chevy Iroc z28 Camaro. Stock, I know I can beat these guys off the line. But now, it's a different story. I haven't told them its still a stock car but they challenged me, and I HATE losing. For a near 11 second car, I'm looking for somewhere between 400-600HP on this thing without going overboard on the price (I know it costs tho). I wanna kill em off the line. What "under the hood" upgrades am I going to be looking for to get this sort of power? Am I gonna need the 5.7L or a L1 engine or can I stick with what I've got? What parts am I gonna need to invest in first, specifically?

Over the weekend Lincoln and Washington have been telling me that I should go for a new or used (or even certified used) car, truck, or SUV.

Neither of these presidents make me want to buy a new car. However, if Nixon told me what a steal these cars were, Harry Truman told me about the bomb deals, or even if Clinton told me about how BIG the savings were I might consider it. What about you?

I believe that it might be under the Motor Vehicle and Construction and Use Regs, but I'm not sure. Obviously this is a question for Traffic Police type individuals, or maybe a Solicitor. Thanks.
