I have seen pics of the old cars where the horn is on the side of the car, so was wondering which manufacturer was the first to design the car with the horn underneath the hood rather than on the outside of the car on the driver's side.

A little background, i was completely stopped at a light, perfect road conditions, and the second are at the intersection, when a semi slammed into the back of me, (no horn honk to warn me or anything). It puched my car into the one in front of me, pretty much totalling my ride.

So i did the call the police thing and then called my insurance. The truck driver could not speak english and was on the phone with his superiors, who arrived on seen (two of them, both in BMWs) before the police.

The police simply gathered us around and we all told the same story, the cop said simple enough and wrote up the police report. this is where it gets strange. I asked the cop if the driver of the semi was going to get a ticket for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident.....his answer No!
The trucking company reps. then offered the explanation that his brakes "failed" however on the accident report the semi was never towed and he was able to drive away with the same brakes.
What to do

According to what I understand, American made cars are limited to 125 MPH. Upon reaching that speed I have been told the electrical system shuts down. The reason for this, as I understand it, is that police cars only reach speeds of 140 MPH, therefore the speed is regulated so you can't outrun police cars.

I know obviously that the cigarette lighter is 12V and you can run any unlimited amount of 12V appliances and not have a voltage issue. My question is what is the max amount of amps I should run through a cigarette lighter? What is the max is can handle? What is the max recommended? Will running this much damage my battery, or lighter wiring. Basically I'm hoping to wire a bunch of lights and some neon through a second, hidden cigarette lighter that Ford quite ingeniously engineered into my vehicle. I estimate it will be probably somewhere near 7 or 8 amps when I'm all done. I'm not really worried about damaging the plug or my battery, it's the risk of fire and damage to the alternator that I'm worried about. I have quite a bit of electrical knowledge for someone who isn't a professional, but I thought I would ask to see what people who know than I do think. Thanks for your time.

It is one thing to pay for fuel and have costs justfied. Oil companies BOASTED 39 BILLION dollars in profit, they are laughing at us. It is time we as a nation made a stand. I say we start with Exxon/Mobil and buy our fuel from other suppliers. We will make Union 76, Chevron, etc. ritch but at least we can send a message and it is a start. Are you with me

I'm looking for a website where I can select from a variety of automotive characteristics such as type (car, truck, suv), 2door/4door, etc. and get a list of fitting vehicles.

I tried looking at the old questions on here and at those recommended sites, but I don't want to have to select a Make to get to the model.

does anyone have a link or any sort of proof about which one is better? i'd like to see these 2 face off against each other. i have seen the Amsoil test where they put Amsoil against about 9 differnt oils, both sythetic and mineral based, and Amsoil is best in all but one. i'm looking for something like that with Royal Purple in the test. i know RP is good stuff, cause i've watched on Trucks! where they took a Dodge Ram and dynoed it, drained all the fluids and replaced them with RP and it made 24 more lbs feet of tourqe at the wheels. i've also seen on Horsepower TV where a stock LS1 Camero made 9 more HP on the dyno with just a RP oil change. just wonderind which is best based on fact, not opinion.
