It is one thing to pay for fuel and have costs justfied. Oil companies BOASTED 39 BILLION dollars in profit, they are laughing at us. It is time we as a nation made a stand. I say we start with Exxon/Mobil and buy our fuel from other suppliers. We will make Union 76, Chevron, etc. ritch but at least we can send a message and it is a start. Are you with me

i work for an oil company. If people would do their research, they would find that a large portion of gas cost is tax (not just the state tax posted as the little number, I'm talking between 15-30% of the gas is tax that's just added into the cost of gas). Another thing, the majority of oil is not used to produce gas. The majority goes into carpet, rubbers, and plastics. Just look at all of the rubber and plastic around you! If your house has carpet, that too was a large part of oil usage. There are many different types and weights of oils, only certain kinds can be used to produce gasoline and only so much can be converted at any given time due to refining capacities. Government has regulated that oil companies not build any more refineries, so when producing gas at 100%, that's it, there's no way to produce faster. There's a lot more I could talk about, but this would go way too long. If you'd like to know more, try researching the taxes imposed on gas and all of the different uses for oil.

Why didn't you list CITGO as an alternative? It is owned by the Venezuelan government and president-for-life Chavez would certainly cheer you on since he controls it.
