Look through the windshield at the dash on the drivers side. I'm not sure if there's more than one, but that's where I always find the VIN!

The VIN number is a seventeen digit code that tells all about the car. It includes body style, when and where assembled, engine, color and other details. there are many places to find the VIN. There should be a plate attached to the dash board, just in front of the driver's side windshield post as well as several other locations that are not so obvious. The term "matching numbers" means a lot to collectors of classic vehicles as that ensures that the vehicle has not been modified in any way, shape or form that would affect its value as a collectible.

A lot of cars that old don't have them on the dash. Every Ford i've driven had the vin number stamped into the chassis at the side of the drivers seat. Look for a little flip up plastic cover in the carpet.

Only one VIN number per car, but it is located multiple places - on the dash near the windshield and on the side of the door are just a few places I know of.

In my state (NJ), the VIN will be on your inspection sticker. There is also a plate right under the windshield on the left hand side of the dash. If you can't find it there, check in the door jamb of the drivers side. It can also be under the hood on a metal plate as well. If you can't find it in any of those places, I don't know where it could be. It will also be on the title.

Usually there's a lot more than just one. Check inside the windshield at the dash on the driver's side. Also inside the driver/passenger door. Another place is under the hood on the firewall.
