Are you kidding? It takes less than half an hour for the road test, and about the same amount of time for the written. I think it's worth that to be able to have a license.
To save time, go to a DMV that's not in a city, so it won't be too busy. It's the waiting in line that takes time, not the actual test.

Wrong, wrong and wrong again! It can be done. There's a company that issues 'replacement' licences. I came across it before but can't for the life of me find it now. The theory is that you're 'travelling' and have 'lost' your licence. You fill out the relevant forms with this company to include what categories you 'have' plus two passport pictures and a fee of about 300.00. Obviously it's not by the book but the end result is that you get a legitimate registered licence. I'll keep looking for the site and forward to you if I can find it.
Good luck!

Good luck if you find away around a test. Find what state you would want to get the driver licence in, go to that state's D.O.T. website and contact them yourself on your matter. They will normally get back with you the next day.

You probably would just have to bring your "international" driver license in and they will issue you a United States license...You will most likely have to take a written test.
