It's not hard at all if you have been practicing. The hardest part is to try and not be nervous - then you can forget things.
When I took my test (at 16) I was perfect until we parked the car at the end, and I forgot to put the cark back into Park before shutting it off and engaging the brake. I still passed just fine. It was evident that this was just a nervous error.

It's a pretty basic skills test that takes approximately 15 minutes depending on your abilities. You will do basic turns with turn signals. Follow the speed limit, use your signals right. They will have a couple of cones that you will have to parallel park in between. Remember to use your signals for that as well. Parking is a must. Follow the speed limit and show that you know what you are doing. It's pretty basic. I've included a link with tips. Although I don't live in NY, it's a good reference.

They want to see how well you obey the laws and also your actual skill in operating the car. Be aware of your surroundings; if there are pedestrians be sure and give them the right of way. Stop smoothly. You will be asked to parallel park--the important thing is to do it without hitting their cones, so if you need a few tries to do it right don't worry about that, just don't hit anything. Try to be confident and smooth. Practice with licensed drivers of the required age accompanying you. Good luck!

Its pretty easy, once you check in they will tell you to drive around back and show them that you know where the lights, turn signals are, etc, at that point you'll parallel park, once you pass that part (make sure you are in the lines) they will tell you to go to the stop sign and from there you obey the lights road sides and other drivers. Just don't pull my sister and run a yellow light they will fail you on that. Its easy and you'll do just fine!! Good Luck Bud!

Here in PA it wasn't too difficult. I had to drive the "S" track (cones set up, and I had to weave), also parallel parking (I had to get within 12 inches of the curb).
The first thing they asked me to do was turn on the lights, the wipers, etc., so they know you know where all that stuff is.
Go for it, at worst, you'll fail and have to take it again. At best, you'll pass and get your license. Good luck!
