need to know where a spring goes from the side

I'm considering a trip to the beautiful north of Norway on my motorbike, but my friend just said "what ya gonna do when it snows then? get some snow chains for ya bike? Hahaha" Then I thought "hey yeah, that might work". Does anyone know of such a device that when fitted to a motorbike makes it possible to ride it in the snow? It is a Honda Hornet (599), I looked for off road knobblies, but you can't get them in a 180 size (for the rear). Please help me, at least so I can shove it right up his sarcastic ****! Cheers in advance!

I ride a Hog and I've never much cared for them buzzy little metric bikes. This summer I've actually waved to some of the new copy Japanese bike riders by mistake thinking they were actually Harleys. No red blooded Hog rider would ever wave intentionally to a non-Harley bike rider, especially one of those crappy wanna be Harley models. Some of the guys riding these wannabe bikes are even starting to dress like us so it is harder and harder to spot the Japanese junk. They probably paid about a third of what my Road King cost me and you can bet they don't have $2,000 worth of officially licensed Harley Davidson clothing like I do (WEAR IT LOUD, WEAR IT PROUD). How do others tell the difference between the granddaddy of all V Twins and the late model Japanese junk (that will be in the scrap heap when my Road King is just getting broken in)? I'm tired of making the mistake of waving to these posers!

I really feel dumb writing this into answers.
I bought a scooter last week becuse I thought it would be fun to have. After driving out on the city streets for afew days I'am finding myself very much scared to take it out again.
I bought it also to save gas going to work only 3 miles away.
Any advice on getting over being scared driving in traffic ?

I am a harley rider and considering buying a sport bike. I am think about doing this for a little change of pace, mind you im not going to sell my harley. I am wondering what a good bike would be because i have little knowledge in this area of motorcycles. I have been told the Ninja is a good bike but I have also heard the the insurance is outragous. I am just wondering what would be a good bike (make model,& trim) with quite a bit of power. Also and other information that could aid me in my search. I am looking at buying used as I dont want to put out over $6000. Thanks Everyone
