Theres no doubt about it,it's hard work, but it pays off.The only way is to hand polish them.I found that extreme works really well.On the bright side,i'd still polish, before chrome. The polish finish is pretty much for ever as long as you keep up with it,and chrome is not no matter what you do.To me a polished finish looks alot better then chrome.Chrome looks to ghetto.

well aluminum is not like chrome, so dont' use any chrome treatments on it. Go out and get like a brillo pad, or a schotch pad that you use to wash your dishes and put some elbo grease into it. I have a CBR 900 with alum frame and muffler. The brillow pad brings it back to new. I dont' use any special treatment or anything like that. Aluminum as a rule will nto currode but as you noticed it will oxidise leaving alittle white layer of oxide. you just have to polish it away.

SIMICHROME POLISH absolute best aluminum cleaner. Most Honda shops have it with the Honda name on it or Ace or True Value hardware. Mail order parts catalogs often have it too. Once you use this sh-t you'll never want anything else. Once polished some automotive wax will help keep it clean.

To add to the last answer as well, unlike rust on iron, the oxidative layer on aluminum does not continue the corrosion underneath, hence it actually serves as a barrier to future damage occurring. Take it from an Analytical Chemist who knows firsthand. Good luck.

Polish it and have all the parts clearcoated. The problem will only keep coming back.

Or give this product a trym it's called Zoop Seal.
