I need to remove my water pump to replace the gasket, however there is a bracket on the same studs as the water pump. The bracket leads over to the power steering , and is behind the pulley. I want to remove the pulley so I can continue to remove it but having trouble getting it off.

The pulley goes to the serpentne belt, and is notched out in a hex shape for what appears to be for a allen wrench.

Can some one give me a idea on how to remove this pulley ?

I just got this truck and its awsome, it has 4wheel drive but im not sure how to operate it and im afraid to try anything for fear of breaking my transmisson. It has a gear shift in the floor and it has 2h 4h N 2L 4L and it has a switch/knob on the front wheels that have a free and locked positions. Im certian that the switch/knob on the front wheels have to be in a certian position to engage the 4wheels but im sure what to do with the gear shift in the floor. basicaly i need step by step instruction on how to operate my 4wheel drive. Any insight on this would be extremly helpful. A link to a web site or if it exist online the owners manual for that truck. Thank in advance.

I have put a 1996 Ford 460 motor & E4OD transmission with a 60 pin PCM in my motor home. Because of a space limitation I had to remove the tail shaft and bolt the transmission directly to the differential. This caused the loss of the Ford 20 tooth (VSS p/n E9LF-9E731-AA) and a Datcon magnetic (VSS p/n 71256-00) was installed in the differential..

There is a harsh shifting between first and second gear and the transmission control indicator lamp flashes. Is there a way to modify or reprogram the PCM to accept the magnetic vehicle speed sensor?

Recently the check engine light came on, along with after my speeds are over 65mph my pb ( power brakes) lights come on, along, with my traction control. I have had it looked at, but the mechanic said, not to worry about it. Now I'm having some sounds from my lifters clanking, can somebody tell me some good diagnoses on whats going on with this?

How difficult is it to wire in a car alarm to a ford focus? My car is the 1999 cl version so its the basic one that doesn't come with an alarm. It does have an immobiliser but no remote lock or unlock, just standard keys with central locking.

My friends have told me I would have to mess with the box under the dash board which unlocks and locks the doors.

I'm not sure what alarm to get yet, I just need one really that provides wireless entry to the car with out the need to keep putting the key in the door, the alarm aspect is less important.

I have a 2006 Ford Fusion which I dearly love. The only problem I have had with it is the gas cap which you have to line up and snap on. Apparently I wasn't doing it right and it quite snapping on. It was ON and wouldn't come off but it wasn't tight. Ford replaced it, of course. Well, now, about 6 months later, even though I was careful it has done it again. Again the "check fuel cap" light has come on (but over a week after it stopped working). So, my question is, will it harm my vehicle or is it dangerous if I leave it like it is? It's such a hassle to take it in to the dearlership!

I have a 1980 F100 pickup with a 300 in-line six cylinder engine. I'm not mechanically inclined and I'm tired of messing with manual transmissions and changing clutches. So, I'm wondering if an automatic transmission would work on it and if it would, what size would I need for it?
