A V8 would help...

sorry I gotta throw in some sarcasm now and than, keeps the ticker tickin.
I used to have a 4.3L in my silverado and my sister used to have a V6 in her 1999 Mustang, so I know what works and what doesn't. If your looking for more power, than I recomend you make it look like it has more power if you do any kind of modifications.
- Make sure you do some performance upgrades too... you can't blow smoke forever ya know.
Like for starters...
-Cold Air Intake... or a K&N filter +10HP
-Larger Throttle body for more efficent fuel flow +10-15HP
-Throttle Body spacer 1in or more (this will give you better gas milage and probabily add on around 2-5hp
-Flowmaster Exhaust... FLOWMASTER ONLY, everything else on a mustang sounds like trash, especially on a V6. I would recomend you go no lower than a 40 delta flow muffler and if you do, use two mufflers not one. +10-15hp & 1-2MPG higher.
-computer chip programmer- These are fairly easy to get, look on eBay for a good deal. This can make a HUGE difference on a Mustang. I have heard that programers increase horsepower by nearly 25-30HP on some. You will probabily see around 15-20HP
There are many more upgrades as well, look into...
-Cam upgrade (15-20hp)
-ported heads (15-20hp)
-High flow intake (10-15hp)
-High Flow Catalic Converters (5-10hp & a louder exhaust)
-LONG tube headers (25-70HP) YES 70! Headers make a world of difference... but its really $$$expensive.
-Turbo or supercharger (50-150hp) please dont turbo charge a mustang...... go with the supercharger! you will get dirty looks if you turbo charge and domestic.

Body upgrade's
-Ram Air hood (Usually you can buy the fiberglass scoop and install it yourself with nuts and bolts. It would help to rivet it on, but its not manditory. Just make sure it matches the paint.)
-Cobra Rims.. (Cobra Rims are sweet... plus V6 rims look different than V8 rims.. Everyone knows you dont have a V8)
-Chrome "3in tips
-Duel Exhaust (a MUST. Dont forget.... FLOWMASTER. Oh and V6's come stock with single pipe exhaust... so everyone knows you dont have a V8 if you dont have Duels.)

Check out www.SummitRacing.com and Ebay for parts.
and check out www.flowmastermufflers.com for mufflers.
and www.tirerack.com for tires.
you can also see what it will sound like.. good or bad by watching what its like on someone elses car.
go to www.youtube.com (thats how I settled on my exhaust)

-well good luck dude. A Mustang is still a mustang.

Man...performance stuff is everywhere for these cars. Try going to mustangs and fast fords.com, and order yourself a jcwhitney catalog too, this should get ya started, and open up a whole new world of after-market wonders. You need to start with a cam, and some bigger injectors, think about a power programmer, and maybe a blower or turbo. But do it in steps, not all at once. Hope this has been helful, and I wish you the best of luck on your build-up.

So are they a well funding?...... NO auto, NO manufacturer of auto is a well funding. Now I see no rationale to suppose a Mustang as only a whiteboy auto. They are pleasant autos or no less than I like them however then for $eight,000 all of it is determined by what you purchase. A 6 cyl. that has been looked after could be pleasant, A V8 that's taken auto of could be a well one... however how was once it pushed.. a sizzling rod? You might get junk. So get one in the event you desire, however have it looked at earlier than you purchase.

I have a 98' mustang V6 and I added a black widow body kit and molded it on as well as smoothed the side vents in and took a spoiler from a fox body mustang and molded it to the trunk and it looks awesome! As far as performance, is your car completely stock right now, or have you done anything to it? click on this link, then click on my pics to see some photos of it.
