So far the ONLY two correct posters are lengendimestang and tritonmods. There is no clutch master cylinder on a 2001 Mustang. It uses the simple old fashioned, self adjusting type cable clutch. Every other manual transmission equipped Ford product (from Focus to F650/F750) uses a hydraulic clutch. The 2005 to current model year Mustangs also now use a hydraulic clutch. Hope this helps.

As the other Ford techs said, it's a manual clutch (cable driven).. only work that has to be done basically is every oil change just pull up on the back side of the clutch pedal one time with your feet and you'll be fine (as it adjusts the tension on some of the mustangs for the cable... )

Your car has no clutch master cylinder. The clutch is cable actuated and has been for a long time on the mustang. You can adjust the cable by pulling the clutch pedal up with your foot and then slowly pushing the pedal to the floor.

There is no clutch fluid as this system is cable driven. the adjustment is done automatically with a regulator Assembly

on the clutch master cylinder.

it is right on the other side of the firewall, the rod goes thru the firewall to the clutch pedal, it looks just like a brake master cylinder.

well, im wrong... i didn't even stop and look for the answer, i assumed... now this explains why i can't see a master cylinder listed.

If you have a straight drive, then the clutch res is real close to the brake res. it is round and a lot smaller.

I haven't been able to find it either, so I sold my Stang.
Actually, mine was an auto. It was the wife's car. You have enough answers to get the idea so I won't add mine. But I will add this link. I put this on my Stang and it was pretty sharp.

EDIT: My bad... read answers below!

01 V6 pony cars aren't all that bad. You can actually do a lot with the little six to make it run.

Good luck!
