I have a 2006 Ford Fusion which I dearly love. The only problem I have had with it is the gas cap which you have to line up and snap on. Apparently I wasn't doing it right and it quite snapping on. It was ON and wouldn't come off but it wasn't tight. Ford replaced it, of course. Well, now, about 6 months later, even though I was careful it has done it again. Again the "check fuel cap" light has come on (but over a week after it stopped working). So, my question is, will it harm my vehicle or is it dangerous if I leave it like it is? It's such a hassle to take it in to the dearlership!

I own a shop, and have worked on cars for many years. I have seen this problem before. That is a pain in the rear, but until they come up with a fix for it, you will just have to deal with it. It won't hurt anything to just let it go, but you will have to look at that light all the time. It does set a code in the computer, and illuminates the light, but there shouldn't be any problems with just letting it be. Ford will probably issue a recall on them pretty soon, and if someone reported it to the EPA, they would get going on a resolution sooner. If you happen to live in a state that does inspections, then this will be a problem when you go for your inspection.
Glad to help out, Good Luck!!!

Questions First; 4X4 used Off-Road plenty? Mileage? Raised in a "Monster Truck Style?" Sounds like Bad Spindles and/or Excess Offset for your Rims. Hub & Bearing is One Unit? Even "Pressed-In Sealed Bearings" Can be eliminated/Pressed Out.

get a new one at a part store.they r cheaper in price and probably last longer, the car needs a good cap to run right,if the light is on it means somrthing is wrong and if you dont get it fixed one thing can lead to another and youll have more probs down the line

Take it back unless you like the Check Engine Light on.
