My 1998 Ford Ranger’s (4 cylinder) heater is stuck on high heat. Every now and then I will be traveling down the road and notice that the heater is not putting out any heat. Then I look at the temperature gauge and it will be dropping. It will go all the way to cold. I know of things that will make a motor over heat, but not cool down. Anyone know what is going on?

My dad said something about dual mufflers. Any other suggestions that aren't too costly? Websites would help too.

I have tried everything i have read...cycling the key 4 times, 8 times and even 10 times with no luck. the remotes I am trying to program have been used before with other vehicles but not my explorer. Is there something I am not doing right, or do these remotes need to be de-programmed first? From all I have read the programming process wipes the memory from the remotes initially anyhow. My explorer does have the keypad on the door if this makes a difference. Any help would be much appreciated since the dealership would be charging upwards of $60.00 per remote to program. Thanks!

The air in my 99 ford tracer blows cold air at times and at times it blows hot or room tempature air. When we tried to recharge it ourselves, every time the compressor would click it goes out (blows non-cold air) What could it be?

I have a Ford Focus 1.8 petrol and about 3 years ago had to have a new exhaust system fitted (NOT the catalytic converter). I opted for a genuine Ford exhaust and wondered roughly how long the exhaust should last.

I have a 1965 mustang that needs the interior roof replaced. I am looking for a shop that has a good reputation and a fair price.

One transmission shop tells me I have no "computer" transmission controller another says Yes, I do.

One shop says, its "splines" are stripped, requires pulling out the entire transmission. Same for cleaning the "filter", another says NO, this is wrong.

One says my Ford transmission is really a "Mazda" transmission made in Japan, and that's why it is "bad".

Then another shop said everyone is wrong.

They say just pull off a hose going to the radiator and see if the transmission is "pumping". If its not, that will tell the story.

They say they will tow it in, and do a "free" estimate, BUT--, if I don't have THEM fix it after they tell me what's wrong---, or I can't afford it, THEN its NOT free!

Is the entire (transmission) industry NUTS like this?? Vague, misleading, and seems to border on criminal---, UNLESS you agree to spend between $1,200- $1,700 for a "re-build" job you may not need??

Sign me,
A very disappointed Florida Ford Escort owner.
