I am considering getting one. The one I may get is a manual, which I want, but it has the old body style. Its extended cab which is a plus..but I don't know what the Heritage means....or if they are good.

Thanks

The heritage Ford is very good. Its no different than any other f150. They kept that old style for a few years for a cheaper way to own a new truck verses the more exspensive new body style. Its basically a new f150 with the old body style, thats it.

In 2003, u could only get 1 body style. In 2004, Ford made 2 body styles, the Heritage and the new style F6. They called the old body style Heritage to distinguish it from the F6. The F6 is bigger overall than the Heritage which is great for a work truck, but hard on mpg.
Other than that, if the truck was well maintained, it should be good for another 10 years of service.

As far as I know, there was no 2003 heritage trucks, it's was only used on the 2004 model year (as far as I know) to seperate the older body style from the newer body style as both were called f-150.

I've had a 2003 since new and have no issues (which is the same truck as the heritage)... If I didn't have to go to the city occasionally, I would have gotten the stick and a v-8

But you'll have no issues.. that and Ford still makes them in South America for the latin market to this day BTW..so it must be a good truck for a now 10 year old design.

The 2003 had a Heritage Edition truck.
"New 2003 Heritage Edition F-150 commemorates 100 years of truck excellence at Ford Motor Company."

As for the manual tranny, they are fairly weak. They are made by Mazda and a manual trans truck has about 1/2 of the towing/payload rating as the same truck with an auto trans.
