hi, ford ka is a very popular first time car,low insurance, cheap petrol & tax. the bad points are extensive! rust around door shuts & sills, crumple zone is TERRIBLE..They are one of the most unsafe vehicles on the road if god forbid you ever get hit. The safer bet by far is the ford fiesta. 1996 on. choice of two engines, zetec & endura, both are reliable & the endura dosnt even need a timing belt change! honestly, go for the fiesta. look on autotrader online, 1500 pounds will get you a 1999 1.3 with colour coded bumpers & power steering...

Wonderful little car. Had one from new, only cost £4999 so it was the basic model. Very lively 1.3 engine and quick accelleration. We measured the boot and bought a holdal bag the same size, loaded it with an amazing amount of clothes etc and set off for the French Riviera via the alps and it was ideal. Sat on the autoroute with 3 adults and a full load at 105mph all day ( didnt do much for the fuel consumption though ) Get one and you won't regret it.............infact i think il go get another one myself having remembered how good they are. Try Hodsons Garage in Penkridge, Staffs, they still do them at £4999.

I'd love a KA! Especially a silver one! I think they're great little bubble cars that aren't too expensive to buy or to run. Perfect for a first car. x

I've got one and I've had it for over a year now, its a good little run around, very easy to drive and I've had no problems with it. But I find the acceleration quite slow and the A/C rubbish, your best opening the window!

Great car. Make sur you get the luxury model. Comes wither leather seats, air con etc etc. Fab. Stay away from the earlier models, they just look cheap.
Happy hunting!!

They're frickin tiny! An ant couldn't probably fit in that. Probably isn't that safe either just looking at the size and it's bubbly body.
