There should be a diagram under the hood. Since the car is 14 years old it may be missing. Try a Chilton's repair manual folr your model. You may be able to find it at Autozone's web site. However, I have not looked for a belt routing diagram there myself. good luck.

I'm assuming that since you are looking for a diagram, the old belt is already off. Okay, try this - the idlers or pulleys that the grooved side of the belt fits on will have grooves, the idlers or pulleys that the back (smooth) side of the belt contacts will be smooth. Start by getting the belt around the crankshaft pulley, then by process of elimination, work your way up to the tightener. You will generally find that the belt contact alternates between face (grooved) and back (smooth) contact. Get the entire belt over the fan before you start.

I had the same problem, The diagram on my F-150 had come off and the book didn't show a diagram.. I tried many different routings and finally gave up. I went to the neighborhood Oreilly auto parts and they printed me up a diagram at no cost. Give it a shot it's worth a try, good luck!
