your fiesta doesnt go 125 mph. Im not sure where fiesta speedometers top out at but if they do go that high and you are saying you were going 125 because you saw it, this is an error in the speedo. Unless you are driving a car that is designed to drive 150+mph, most cars have a huge margin of error above 100mph in there speedo's.
P.S. TO THE PEOPLE WHO KEEP ON SAYING THE CAR IS CAPABLE OF GOING 125MPH.
The 1.1L. ford fiesta is a 957cc 45hp car. Thats right, it only has a 45hp engine. The top speed for this car per the manufacture is 85mph. Unless you have like a 60 degree downslope that lasts for like 5 miles without any curves there is no way this vehical can get anywhere near 125mph. I am guessing he probally meant to write km/hr but I can believe people writting below me are saying they think this car can do 125mph. Also, the 1.1L fiesta doesnt have, never has had, and never will have a speed limiter. The reason you cant go any faster is you have a 45 hp engine and your wieght to hp ratio along with friction and other factors including gravity and such only allow you to achieve a certain speed with your vehical.

ok if its a 1.1 litre doing a ton 25 theres a good chance you were sleeping
1.1 fiesta has a top speed of 95 give 10 each way
why do 125 when the speed rating is probably a T on the tyres which is around a 100 mph safe speed
why go that fast all your doing is being a hazard and decreasing your fuel economy
if you have your engine tuned for that speed good chance the chasis isnt capable of that speed and stability making more microfractures in the body which could result in cracks
whats your braking distance at 125 on 1.1 litre brakes????
surprised if u stop at all
severe lack of responsibility on your behalf even 85 is to much speed if a car cuts you up
think dont be a prat

The speed a vehicle will do in theory is nothing to do with the speed you may actually achieve. The maximum speed is a combination of engine, gearbox, brakes, tyres and other components.
Whilst for example your Fiesta may achieve 125mp, it is unlikely that the brakes and tyres are capable of operating correctly or safely at that speed.
Manufacturers design vehicles and set limits on performance based on the safe operation of the components as well as taking account of your personal safety.
Yes it may be possible to fit a new chip or retune a vehicle but you then risk overriding the safety parameters that have been set.
Why should you need greater speed? Within the UK the national speed limit is 70mph. You risk a speeding fine or loss of licence at the very least.
You risk loss of your life – which may not be important – and injury and loss of life of others which is.
If you need an example of the result of an accident at 125mph look at F1 cars. They are designed in such a way that the driver walks away without injury.
The same accident in your Fiesta would result in your being carried away in a body bag.

How you get 125mph out a 1.1 Fiesta? Drive it over a cliff or something?

You can actually reach 125mph!!! Isn't that fast enough. Probably because the engine is only designed for town running, and not motorway racing!!

Was it being towed by a ferrarri?
If not, was it actually reving to 11,000 RPM?
Have you gone mad and swapped it for the old Siera 2.0i DOHC engine?
Maybe it was a Eurofighter Typhoon towing it?
Maybe after it had done 125MPH, you woke up?
Or maybe you're talking from your bumhole?
Or maybe you're not old enough to drive for another 7 years?

fwh answered your question just perfectly ,but one point I would like to mention is that if you did have your motor rechipped and tuned as some suggested you must declare the modifications to your insurer which could well cost you a heap more on the cost if you don't and then you are involved in an accident your insurance may be void and it could cost a lot more.

fiesta will never see 125, if the speedo indicated you were going this fast, the tires are probably the wrong size, "shorter" sidewall and you have a very large speedo error.
