It happened recently. I was driving to school yesterday and when I got on the interstate, and sped up to meet the speed limit (70 mph) my car started to jerk very bad. I tried to put it in cruise, but it still did it. WHen I slow down to about 60 mph, that car does not jerk anymore. What the heck is wrong with my car? :(

It was garage kept for yrs and is all original except for new paint I had done the same color. Its been in my family since it was new & is in great shape inside & out. It has a 221 V8, less than 20,000 mi. & runs like new. Transmission is manual. I want to list it on ebay but am not sure what my reserve should be. Is $10,000. to much or not enough? It was drove by my grandpa until he got a new car and doesn't have a hard mile on it. Whoever gets it will be extremely happy with overall condition. I have looked at ones like it to get an ideal but would really appreciate any knowledgeable answers since I'm a novice about fairlanes. Thanks.

I think that the 19641/2,1965 Mustang, is the best car style of any car on the road today. I drove my first Mustang in Germany in 1965 and it looked better then the 1965 SL180 by MB. What do you think? Are there any 65 Mustang collector out there?

I have changed the filter. it has no external modulator valve. If i take off in the # 2 gear selection, get up speed, then go back to drive it seems ok, until I stop again.no other gear seems to have this problem.

Ford claims ranger gets up to 29 mpg. Window sticker in 1990 read same. I have driven a 1990 Ranger for 17 years. It has 317,000 miles on it. It has been driven from NC to Ca. Serviced regularly. At no time have I ever gotten close to this kind of mileage. I average 20-21 mpg. Is there a Ranger that gets up 29 mpg ?

What can a person do within reason to get a typical 70's era large Ford sedan to get a whole lot better MPG than they typically get?

Lets say for the sake of an example, a 70-something LTD 4 door sedan or wagon with a 460-V8 or the 400-V8 or perhaps the 351-V8. Those cars as I remember always got no better than 12 or so around town, 20 on the highway in a tailwind going 50!

I like the looks of these tank-like Fords, but wonder what kinds of modern technology I can add or change to and be within cost reason to bring up the MPG on these beasts?

Thanks.

Currently i have a 4.6 engine in my mustang. However its "blown up" and my dad is going to replace it... he wants to put another 4.6 in it but i asked him if i payed for it, could we have a 5.0 put in it... He told me that it has to be a 4.6. (otherwise you would have to change the mounting bolts and transmission among other small things)...What exactly would it take, and would it be worth it???
