its a franchise. you have to inquire at ford. you cant just go into a town and say were opening a ford dealer. they have boundries, population, traffic all that to consider and if another ford dealer is located close by. its market demands mostly so good luck you might could take one over from somebody else.

At this time, Ford is trying to reduce the number of dealerships. Especially in larger cities with multiple dealers. They would like to combine them, if they could.

You could call Ford and make an inquiry, as to the requirements needed to open a dealership. You will need to have a large cash reserve and a certain net worth into the millions not including your personal residence to qualify. Ford will also determine if a dealership in your area is needed, and they will want to approve the location.
