Your picture is of a Over head cam 2.3 to 2.5 liter 4 cyl engine that started life in the Ford Pinto. 5.0 V-8 engine fills up the engine bay. The 5.0 engine has two valve covers.

NO offense here. But the next time you go out looking at cars, it might be a good idea to take someone else with you, that is more familar with Ford engines. Two heads are better than one, when you are looking for cars.
As you know by now, this is not a 5.0. I hope the guy wasn't selling it as one. The 5.0's will mostly be in GT's. Except for a guy I met, he had a plain jane mustang LX and had the 5.0 with a supercharger on it. It would run. A real sleeper.

NO! this is no 5.0... A 5.0 is basically a 302 cubic inch V8. This is a picture of the less desirable 1.8 4 cylinder. In other words food for the 5.0 or any other car out there except a YUGO. It can be modified to run much faster but why?
Most Mustangs that use the 5.0 have a badge that says so. Also more than likely it is a GT. This looks like just your run of the mill Mustang coupe. Keep looking...
OH BTW! Try a mid 90's SHO MTX, they love embarrassing 5.0 Mustangs..

Nope, that's the 2.3 SOHC. About 88bhp compared to the 205bhp of the 5.0 V8, but they get fairly good gas mileage. I bought one when the gas prices went up. Mine's an 87.
Good luck!

It's definitely a 6 cyl. what year?
Give me specific vehicle info and the 8th digit of the VIN number found on the driver's side dash or on a sticker of the driver's door jam. I could be of some help.
