I have changed the filter. it has no external modulator valve. If i take off in the # 2 gear selection, get up speed, then go back to drive it seems ok, until I stop again.no other gear seems to have this problem.

Fords that don't upshift properly electronic controls generaly do not fail often. Line pressure solonid valve could set a transmission code. But All you indicate is you changed the trans filter and the problem was or was not present then. Most likely it is remanufactured Transmission time! Also replace the transmission cooler with the radatior or add a B&M trans cooler in front of the radatior. You would not metal debris form the old trans to get into the new rebuilt gear box.

check battery cables and make sure engine is tuned...both can mess up computers mind....then go to tranny shop before u do more damage..
