Okay, so my stereo is doing the wierdest thing; when it turns on, it plays fine and everything, you can see the cd track time advancing as normal, except there is no sound coming out of my speakers! When I go over bumps, sometimes i can hear a few seconds, and then it goes away. So then i swapped out the cd player with a different one, and it does the same exact thing!

I have a 2ohm DVC Alpine Type R 12" hooked up to a 750s SoundStream amp. It's wired to 1 ohm which the amp is stable at on a high current setting. The headunit is a Pioneer. Sometimes while listening to music the sub will start rumbling really hard and I will have to cut the stereo off. The headunit has a setting to turn the subwoofer on and off but cutting it off from there dosn't stop the rumbling. It will only quit when the unit is off. Usually when I cut it right back on it will start doing it again. If left sitting for a while (like over night) it will not do it when I turn it on again then. At least not for a while. Everything is hooked up correctly as far as I know. I am pretty knowledgable about car audio and I've never had a problem like this with a system before. I was thinking it might have to do with the fact that I have no trunk liner right now and the amp is sitting directly on the same metal it is grounded to but I'm not sure if that really makes a difference. I've bolted amps down to metal parts before and had no problem so I don't know. If anyone has a clue what may be going on please let me know what I should check. Thanks in advance.

It's an AM/FM/Cassette system and is same as purchased. The FM is barely comming in, even if I go just of out a town such as Sebastopol, CA (pop 7,800). Also at home, where reception is above average for AM, I press the seek on FM and the seek goes through all FM station without stopping.

I have three amp set ups of thinking to buy for my sub set up. I have two MTX 7512-44 (7500's) They are rated at 400 RMS, but I want to send 600 to each. So I am looking at either:

Two MTX TC6001
Two Kicker KX600.1
Two Alpine MRD-605
Two RF 600.1BD

Which do you think I should buy and use?

I put in a disc that was, more or less, homemade. It came from a choir at Duke University. After playing that, the whole system jammed. You can hear that the disc player is trying to eject. It gives another message which says, "eject all discs." However, it is unable to eject any. The radio still plays. I took it to a sound system repair place and the mechanic could not get any of the discs to come out. He said that there was a flap which prevented any extraction. Is there a way of saving the machine? It is an addition to my Xterra that I do not want to lose.

I bought the Dual brand cd770 model cd player and I cannot seem to figure out how the iplug (ipod connection) works. I have made sure it is correctly wired to the back of the unit. I have plugged the Ipod in and nothing, i made sure it was on "aux" also. Anyone have any advice?

It is NOT a problem with my speakers or the wiring to my speakers. I checked that already, and plus why would both speakers stop/start working at the same exact time because of the wiring to them. It's very unlikely.

So my question is, which wire could possibly deplete your sound with a bad connection (other than the obvious speaker wires)?

The CD player was working fine until a couple of days ago when
it started "jumping" on one track, and then ceased playing.
When I insert a CD, any CD, it does not read it.
