I've got two SPL subwoofers....

i know, i know.... they are not SQ woofers....

but how can i get the best SQ from them?
they are currently in a sealed box

would putting them in a ported box make there SQ go up.

or is there any other component that i can add to them to give them more SQ?

Go for a small sealed box or a very well tuned bandpass built professionally also placement has a big effect on how your music sounds move your subs around in the trunk and see what sounds the best. Also depending on your speakers and amplifier wire your speakers at 4 ohms or 8 ohms. 2 ohms and lower distorts easily and sounds rough

For sure go with a sealed box if your listening to low low base like techno or rap. A ported or vented box is ideal for bass in rock music. The sealed box has a higher sound quality and lower bass, but i personally listen to rock and would prefer a vented box.

first off, a small volume sealed box will give you best response, so thats a good start. Second, running them at lower power and more ohms will also give you better results. You can also get filters for your RCAs i believe, but im not 100% how those work, i do know they filter most EMR noise from the lines though.

Get a box that has the longest tuned port for the lowest bass.

keep them in a sealed box. ported boxes reduce sound quality. Also add baffel to the inside of the box.
