I live in an area of average car crimes either by opportunist, "joy riders" or professional criminals. Thinking of my forthcomming car purchase with a modest budget wondered which is the best to get purely on a security basis. Thanks for your help/advice

Hubby says to wait three months for spring specials. I say the dealers are more apt to deal a good deal on a 2006 now to finish unloading them and to meet quota's which are down due to snow and low sales. Whose right?????

With vehicles today and knowing that eventually you'll have to do some repairs, which is better. We figured that by leasing you'll avoid paying for costly repairs since it's under warranty, you'll always drive a newer vehicle and you have a guaranteed buyer. We have always thought buying a year or two old was better but lately the costly repairs have made us wonder if it's worth it. We have also noticed that the used trucks drop drastically again once we drive away. So what do you think ? Has anyone been happy with leasing or buying it and what made your decision.

I purchased a 2007 Dodge Nitro. It was defective. I returned it and the dealer put me in a 2006 Liberty. I found out a couple weeks later that I overpaid by at least $10,000.00. Is there something I can do to recoup some of this money? Isn't this unethical? I was vulnerable and stressed due to the defective Nitro, but had no idea they were going to screw over me like this! What can I do? Who can I contact? Do I need a lawyer? Is there any chance? I feel violated and taken advantage of.

I bought this 96 dodge ram off of a private seller, he said that the ball bearings were checked because they squeked, but it was that make and model and there was nothing they could do. We drove the truck it had a slight squeking sound. two weeks later it started this god awful noise, we took it to a mechanic and they said the ball bearings were almost non exsisting. If I were to hit a pot hole I'd be screwed. The mechanic also said he could tell that the guy greased them to cover up the problem. What can I do? It is going to cost $750 to fix this. Is he not at all liable for putting me and my infant an 2 toddlers in danger? This seems like fraud. PLEASE anyone who knows anything reply.....

We got a flyer in the mail and went to a local car dealership. The flyer said they'd give $3000 off the purchase of a vehicle. We picked out a truck and they said it was $25000 and with the discount it was 22. We told them we'd think about it. We looked online and their ad showed it for 21 without the "coupon".

Got any tips for buying a vehicle without getting taken for a "ride"

.

Here is the situation: I do not live in the U.S and here cars are more expensive than America. I have an offer to buy a 07 Toyota Camry 2.4L or a 07 Mrcedes-Benz 1.8L (some cars also come smaller here). They are almost the same price, which one should I buy in this situation taking in mind everything (fuel consumption, maintenance, resale value, comfort ...etc.)? And in normal situation which one should I buy then? And why, thank you!
