i'm suppose to get a auto loan for $8500 thru NavyFederal and pay the dealership by 2/21/07...the problem is getting approved for the loan is taking longer than i thought...im thinking i will get the money on 2/22/07...will the dealership cut me some slack or is the dealership gonna charge me or something?...is there a way to get more time?

I doubt that they will penalize you for being a day late, but I would call them and explain the delay, giving them the name of your credit union for verification. Better that you be pre-emptive and call them before they call you to ask where the money is. You can usually avoid punitive action by talking to a live person at the dealership to explain before automatic procedures take over...

No problem just make them aware of what is going on. This is actually a common situation. No extra charge should be added.
