I really need a vehicle asap and seen this ad for a 88 bronco for $700. Would this be an ok buy just to get around for school and work. Also has 300k miles and no title.

I owe about $38k more on my car, the trade-in value is around $35k. I'd like to trade it in for a car at the dealership marked at around $25-33k~ to lower my monthly payments.

Is this feasible?

How does this work?

Would it be wiser to sell the car to a private party and buyout the loan with another private party's loan?

I'm thinking about purchasing a used car. Both the above vehicles have 43,000 miles and are in impeccable condition. They both are going for the same rate, I guess I just have to make a decision.

The question is which one will be more reliable down the road?

I can attest to Honda/Acura's relability, but the Passat is a tad bit classier on the inside and comfortable to drive.

Any advice?

I am looking for a new car and for price and gas reasons I am looking at small SUV's. I know very little about cars, but have done my research and test drove both. Neither really strike me as very favorable by looks alone- can anyone give me any advice as to which is the better car overall? I am in my mid 20's and a teacher, I snowboard so will take my car to ski country, I live in the Northeast(for now) so i do see some tough winters and am looking for something that will not consume gas. I will probably also go for the top of line versions of either car for certain extras

should I accept the car with a new clutch or should I demand under the sale of goods act a replacement car? Is the clutch the 1st of many problems that I can expect with the car I purchased? Or was I just unlucky? Would the better option be to demand a new car?

I'm thinking about buying a car from an ad. If the car is good enough to buy (by my standards), what would I need to get from the person I'm buying from? i.e. pink slip, receipt of payment, etc.

I've always compared the Maxima to a Honda Accord; but when I went to the Nissan dealership, he compared it to an Acura TL...I am not sure if this is true, or just sales talk, but what do you compare the Maxima to? And is it good for a 24 y/o? Or should I get something else?

Listed on "craigslist" is an add for a "98 honda civic, 130k, $3,300" Not exactly written like that, add offers that he is only owner and has service records. I emailed the man on the car since it is listed in Oklahoma City, asked him could we arrange a meeting. This is a brief reply of what he said "The car is in good condition and nothing is wrong to his knowledge, and he gave me the vin number. He is in Finland he was called back from army reserves for peace maintence says he bought land and decided to work there so moved his family there and will take too long to register the vehicle there so is selling back in the us, I offered him $2,500 he immediately accepted stating that it would be shipped to my door within 3 days from the us air military and that we would do the transaction through ebays vehicle purchase-ebay will then hold the funds for 10 days while i put the car in my name and after that is done will release the funds to him.
