I am about to buy a car and the guy says that it will drive in reverse but when you put it in drive it won't go forward. I am thinking that that would be a transmission problem. It is an automatic. I know a bit about cars and that is the only thing I can think of.. If you know can you please let me know before I spend my money!! lol

I'm SURE YOU'VE THOUGHT about buying a car with no transmission! I'm SURE you are AWARE how much Transmissions COST!

I would not buy a car the drives in REVERSE only...unless of course you know WHAT your DOING and have a COUPLE GRAND to get the thing to DRIVE FORWARD.

okay....best wishes...

It could be a bad transmission. I had a Ford act like that one time, and I changed the fluid and filter, and the tranny started working. I would insist that he do the work before I purchased the automobile, because a new transmission will be costly.

Sounds like a bad transmission to me.

Sounds like a waste of time, find another automobile unless you specialize in transmissions.

You are correct but it would be wise to steer well clear of this car in my opinion. Don't buy someone else's rubbish.
