They didn't contact us about it until a month later. Then once they did they tell us, they told us that we needed to come back and refinance the truck with the amount they messed up on, which was 7000 dollars. I told them it was their mistake and that I am not paying anymore for the truck. They proceeded to send me a letter threatening to sue me if I didn't. I hired an attorney and we are now waiting to see what to do next. In the meantime, I have been receiving letters from numerous finance companies thanking me for my recent credit application. BUT, I didn't do any. So, what I found out after calling them, is that they are going behind my back without my consent and trying to re-finance the truck. I have gotten about a dozen letters. Then, to top it all off, I haven't received my tags for the truck. It is going on 3 months. I called DMV and they said that there is a leinholder in Alabama that has the title still and that is why I haven't gotten the tags. Help???

It doesn't make sense to me that anyone would want to buy a new car that isn't a hybrid. With gas prices the way they are and the pollution from exhaust it's the only logical thing to do. I think every car manufacturer should be focusing on producing hybrids or other fuel alternatives. I guess it's kind of like trying to give up smoking. (when you know it's bad but you do it anyway.)

I am looking into purchasing a new vehicle [Ford] soon. It's an 06 model so the price is already pretty low right now, but here is my question:

My brother seems to think it's always best to deal with cash and for the most part, I agree.

But in this case... If the vehicle is 12,995 in the paper and I have about $8,000 to put down should I really put it down all at once, or should I make the dealer think that I plan on financing with them and then apply it to principal on my first payment? (I plan on paying it off ASAP, less than a year) My thinking is that if the dealership thinks they are going to make money off of me on financing, they may go easy on the bottom line price instead of jacking it up and telling me that they are all out of the 12,995's but they have one for $18k or so. Is this logical or am I way off base? I dont really know the technical aspect of how they work, except that they will try to get as much money as possible out of me, but I want to pay the least.

My boyfriend and I have 4 children between us, ages 2, 3, 3, and 4, and are finally selling our Mitsubishi for something more practical. What is a good vehicle that will hold all 6 of us, plus have room for groceries, toys, and all the fun stuff that come with kids? We drive a lot, as my family is 800 miles away, so we need something that's roomy, but is safe and dependable for long trips.

I'm more partial to the look of SUV's, but a van seems more practical.

Working w/ a dealership. Is this right? 74,000 miles, was leased by someone, I am putting 2,000.00 down, price is 8,995.00, at 23.80% interest rate, 1,100.00 service contract which is the 2 yr. warranty, 545.40 for taxes, loan for 5 yrs. total at 15, 056.40 and Deferred Price (after 5 yrs.) 17,056.40. This seems a bit much for a 2001? but this is the only person I could find to approve me cuz of my bad credit (went through a divorce) & I can't buy out right, have to borrow the 2,000.00 down payment. He is putting on new front tires & I kinda know the guy so should I trust him? It costs $50.00 to $75.00 for a saftey check through any mechanic. Should I get this done? Didn't look like there was any paint work done to it. Thanks for anyone that can help me.

Me and my family bought a van from a big dealer ship, and now they are saying we may have to return it because they did not pull a full credit report. They are saying that our credit is not good enough,we put $500 down and signed all the papers and if we want to keep it they are wanting more money down.Or take a lesser/cheaper van.We live in ohio, any help about laws or anything at all would be fully appreciated.
