Toyota Yaris. A diesel, which is the one to go for, should come under that price. Economical, reasonable power, good steering, plenty of room inside, yeat easy to park. They hold their value pretty well too.

A 1 year old 1.8litre Ford Mondeo under the Ford Direct scheme. 2 year guarantee and a very comfortable car.
I have had 4 under this scheme and they have all been great. Each one has been better than the previous one.
Don,t be put off by other peoples comments as they obviously do not know about these things first hand.

a citroen C2 is nice car, and so is a ford fiesta.
or you can just by a perodua kelisa and have enough cash to maintain and buy fuel for a couple of years.

but i always have a soft spot for a volkswagen lupo.

a kia picanto has been getting great reviews in autocar magazine as great supermini to buy.
