When I turn the key I can hear the choke click but the starter does nothing and the shifter will not move to reverse, forward is ok. Batterys are hot and the motor seems to be down all the way and all the connections are tight. Is there a reverse lockout safety switch or something that would cut power to the starter? I can turn the fly wheel by hand and the trans seems to be in neutral It started and ran fine in the driveway a month ago. Course they always run fine on the trailer. Maybe I'll just unhook at the hitch and sail the trailer around too.Hard to get up on plane though.

This will be a one time trip, it is gong from land to land, no water involved. It can be a goose neck or a regular trailer.
If it is a rental, I need to be able to return it in the city I live in, not the city I picked up the trailer from.

Thanks for helping!!

If not, is there any place that could possibly tow it for me for under 2,000?

I have a truck fully capable of pulling 10,000lbs. So truck is not an issues, only the trailer and length of the boat seems to be stumping me.

We want to get a second vehicle for taking short fishing/camping trips.
*Want to spend about $5000
*SUV-type vehicle
*Can pull a 17-18' foot Bass Tracker boat

How old of a vehicle do you think we are looking at, and how many miles do you think we should expect to be on it? We're pretty open to all makes of SUV-type vehicles but are not interested in a pickup. I'd appreciate any input or ideas - thanks!

Think the trolling motor is 12 volt system but not sure. So do I have it hooked up correct? Will it hurt the motor if it is hooked up this way? Should I have the Pos lead of motor to one of the batteries pos side and the neg lead of motor to the other batt neg side?

i work for a retail auto parts store.we have no sign that says mercruiser, yet still i get at least one goober a day asking for boat parts.my question is why do they get upset when i tell them to go to the marina?????????? if you needed heart surgery you wouldnt go to your dentist because he's cheaper and then whine because he wont do it would you? if you wanna own a boat,go to the freakin marina, take it with no grease and be happy.when my harley breaks down i dont go to the drug store and ask for parts,i go to the harley dealer.

My Carb number is 807764A1. This is for a GM 4.3 The boat dealers do not sell carb kits for this carb. They sell all parts individually. The price for the carb parts I need is around $300.
This kind of seems extreme.
This carb looks like the same type used on vehicles.
